OUR FOUNDER

    
In 1950 the Pentecostal Followers of Jesus Christ Inc.,was founded in the city of Baltimore, Maryland, under the leadership of the Late Bishop George G Levant, a former bishop serving  under the ministry of (PAW). He served faithfully as presiding chairmen and founder of the Pentecostal Followers of Jesus Christ from 1950 to his death in 1974. A servant of God given to hospitality, Bishop Levant's greatest joy was witnessing a soul come to Christ.

Directed by the spirit of the Lord, Bishop Levant traveled far and near promoting the gospel of Christ proclaiming that Christ is Lord. A God fearing man of few words he followed the vision of God, establishing Churches,ordaining ministers, pastors, evangelists and teachers in many cities and states, for the work of the ministry and the edifying of the body of Christ. His love for souls prompted him to seek shelters for the lost, schools for the unlearned and homes for the aged. Bishop Levant encouraged people everywhere to strive to live a holy godly life and seek to please God as holiness was right and without it no one would see the face of the Lord in peace.




Upon the death of this godly leader, the Lord continued to encourage this great body of believers to remain focused by replacing its leader with several God fearing men. In 1974 the mantle fell on Bishop Jobie Boone of Virgina Beach, Va; 1976-Bishop Ray Hamlet of Hartford,CT; 1986-Bishop Presker Heggins, of Baltimore, MD; 1988-Bishop William H Martin of Boston, MA, 1998-Bishop John T. Reid of Norfolk, VA and its current presiding prelate, Bishop Winfred B Hamlet of Hartford, CT. In 2004 due to an extensive out reach ministry and growth in foreign countries, the Pentecostal Followers of Jesus Christ acquired a new title  "Pentecostal Followers of Jesus Christ International Ministries"
God has truly been good and blessed this organization in numerous ways. As stated by it's founding father; "Be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the works of the Lord as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord". Be Strong in the Lord and in the Power of his might. ANY DAY NOW JESUS WILL RETURN. WILL YOU BE READY?
